Sunshine and Stream written & illustrated by NC Bishop-Culpeper

A Victorian Board Book from the Late 1800s. Violet, Jack, Robin, and Mary were four children who lived in London square. Every spring they delighted in the coming of their summer holiday to their Uncle John, and the old house on the river. Three dogs were waiting for the arrive of the children, The biggest was Brunette, called for short Brownie , a brindle Bull Mastiff, with a dreadfully fierce-looking face, but who was the gentlest and best tempered dogs. Then came Lena, a lemon and white Clumber Spaniel, with a soft and gentle face, and a pretty heart-shaped mark on her forehead; her chief fault was greediness, and she ate so much that she became very fat and lazy. Her daughter, Spot, was the youngest of the party, and called so from the yellow spot on her head; she was very fond of her mother.

Book measures 7″ x 10″ and has 33 pages. The drawings are in sepia. There are fourteen full page illustration, blank on the reverse and all pages have illustration many including the dogs in a brown tone.
